Oberon’s Charity Flow-Through ("CFT") financing structure is consistent with CRA and Revenu Québec Advance Tax Rulings:
- The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec have issued a number of Advance Tax Rulings and Technical Interpretations confirming the tax treatment of Oberon’s structured CFT product.
- The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) officially issued an Advance Tax Ruling on November 19, 2012 specifically confirming the appropriateness of Oberon’s CFT financing structure.
- This clarification for donors and charities allows Canadian philanthropists to utilize Oberon’s CFT structure without the apprehension that their tax returns will be delayed due to their participation.
- The issuance of an advanced tax ruling by the CRA is at the discretion of the agency and involves extensive analysis on their part. Oberon works cooperatively with the CRA and Revenu Québec on any required Advanced Tax Rulings or Technical Interpretations that may be required.
